Tegan used to live alone, disliked her employment (shut in a back room sorting out old clothes on her own) and was socially isolated. Her life turned around, however, when introduced to her citizen advocate, Hayley, who was like a ray of sunshine in her life.
On our video, the two young ladies talk about the fun they have together and how their relationship has enriched both their lives. Additionally, and not held back by Tegan’s use of a wheelchair, Hayley encouraged Tegan to participate in a number of voluntary roles (including handing out pamphlets at festivals) – valuable skills to add to her CV. Having built her self-confidence, Tegan is now interested in a course of study which will lead to meaningful employment. Hayley also supported Tegan during discussions with her accommodation service provider in order to live the life she chooses.
